Geoff Meagher

Geoff has over 30 years of experience at the senior management level in various Irish and international entities. His experience covers managing significant business operations, acquisitions and disposals, investment appraisal, banking arrangements /negotiations, and general management(I.T. and shared services). He worked in various roles in the Glanbia Group commencing in 1975 where he gained broad commercial experience.

Experience

Geoff has over 30 years of experience at the senior management level in various Irish and international entities across various sectors, including Glanbia PLC, Pricewaterhouse Coopers, and Kilkenny Engineering Products. During that time, Geoff’s focus has been on a broad range of areas, including improved business performance / efficiencies; financial and management accounting; investment appraisal and execution; mergers, acquisitions and disposals; investor relations management; and IT / shared services delivery.

Geoffrey is both a commercially driven and results-focused individual. He held the position of Deputy Group Managing Director of Glanbia plc. from 2005 to 2009, including being responsibility for the commercial performance of two core divisions with a combined turnover of over €900 million per annum. Geoff was Group Finance Director of Glanbia plc. from 1992 until 2009.

Geoff was also responsible for the management of the Group Purchasing Division where the realisation of wide scale cost efficiencies was a key focus. Geoff also played a key role in the successful merger with Waterford Foods in 1999. Thereafter, he assumed the overall responsibility for the Group IT & Group Shared Services functions, which involved the implementation of the SAP platform across the wider business. He was part of a management team that completed over 30 acquisitions and disposals.

Geoff is currently advising clients across a range of industry sectors whose aim is to overcome challenging market conditions and re-position for future growth and market improvement. He advised Glanbia Co-Op in their negotiations with Glanbia plc. for the possible acquisition of the Irish assets of Glanbia plc.
