Liam Mulcahy

Liam has over 30 years of, commercial, and general management experience within multinational companies in the oil and energy sectors both here and abroad. He developed and implemented commercial strategies according to company goals and objectives and delivered accelerated growth ahead of the market and helped turn Topaz into one of Ireland’s leading retailers.

During that time he also developed one of the leading B2B transport fuel businesses on Fleet Cards in Ireland. He built a high-performance sales team within his sales units and drove the importance of emotional intelligence in Topaz. As a result of this change, the teams are now delivering results year on year well ahead of the market. He also has broad experience of working in various companies with different cultures in the Oil, Retail and Construction industries.

Liam has been involved with large tenders and procurement of commodity products in the B2B sector and has experience of executing many large customer supply contracts both in the private and government sector.

Experience

Liam’s most recent role was as Commercial Director of Topaz Energy limited for the last eleven years. Here he helped them launch the brand, integrate three international companies in Shell, Statoil and more recently Esso into one market leader with right cost-base, and created a high performing culture.

Liam’s sales teams went across a number of channels – Fuels, Lubricants, Aviation and Home Heating delivered growth ahead of the market in each of their sectors for the last five years.

Before Topaz Liam worked for Statoil both in Ireland, Norway and the Baltics where he gained valuable experience in International business models and how cultures across countries operated most effectively.

Liam also worked as a Company Director in a number of Joint Venture companies, with Shell Aviation MJV in Dublin called SATA and with DCI on high volume fuelling based in Monaghan. Liam is now applying his 30 years of broad commercial experience to a wide range of companies in different sectors.
