DAVID PARKINSON


David is a specialist HR Director and has designed and implemented change strategies across different organisations and sectors, dealing with various different cultures and organisational structures. Thanks to his experience on boards, he has a deep understanding of managing a business at strategic and operational level. David now focuses his attention on mentoring and advising organisations on various HR, best practice and change strategies.

Experience

Having worked for over 40 years in the automotive, food and beverage industries with well- known market leaders, David has amassed considerable business knowledge and experience. David started his career in the motor-distribution sector (VW, Audi, Mercedes) where he was responsible for operational management, payroll, IT, and staff training. Following this, David joined Unilever where he held the positions of Personnel Manager across a range of different brands under the Unilever Group umbrella. During this time, he managed significant restructuring and change management programmes within each of these Unilever businesses.

Subsequently, David moved into the beverage industry and was appointed HR Director of Gilbey’s of Ireland where he was responsible for the overall employee / people agenda across each of its businesses. David designed and implemented various change strategies across the business and was heavily involved in all of the company’s merger, integration and acquisition activities for many years.

David has also gained extensive experience in the HR areas of performance management, trade union negotiations, industrial relations, remuneration structures, outsourcing /rationalisation, succession planning and team building at the executive/board level.
